“Good tools are prerequisite to the successful execution of a job.” Though the saying is old, it is still an all-time truth. Thanks to Oxford University Press. Recently, the publisher has kindly donated some 153 hard copies of Oxford Advanced Learner’s English-Chinese Dictionary (8th Edition) to our school with an aim to supporting our students’ English language learning. The provision of the dictionaries is definitely beneficial to our students as a dictionary like this might not be affordable to most of our students. Indeed, when Leo Lin of S.3A received the dictionary, he kept telling his classmates, “This dictionary is good!” When school resumes, the English Department is planning to give out the dictionaries to all S.1-5 students. Upon receiving the dictionaries, a series of dictionary workshops and learning activities will be organized with the purpose of reinforcing students’ self-learning attitude and making their language learning journey more enjoyable.
